Business (not quite) as Usual

BUSINESS AS USUAL (ISH)

These are testing times for everyone, and everyone is trying to find the best way to get through this so that they can emerge succesfully and healthy on the other side.

Mrs K Designs will remain open, but with a few slight alterations.

I work from home so I am largely unafected by social distancing and self isolation. I do, however, have a little one, who from next week I will be having to look after and homeschool. Therefore my working hours will predominantly be in the evenings, but I will still be checking emails during the daytime. Please bare with me if things take slightly longer than usual.

DESIGN WORK

As all I need is myself and my computer, I am still able to fulfil your design briefs. Things may just take slightly longer, but I will of course notify you of timescales when you get in touch.

WEDDING STATIONERY

We are currently unsure of how long this situation is going to continue. Fingers and toes are crossed that this will not affect your special day.

For anyone planning a wedding: Please still get in touch to discuss your ideas. If your wedding is later in the year, or next year then you will still need to invite people. Currently I am still able to produce printed products, but this may alter along the line. But don’t worry… email invitations are the next big thing! So if we can’t print why not send a lovely digital version instead?

For anyone getting married soon: If you have ordered stationery already but are considering postpoing your wedding date then just let me know. I can alter the details of your existing design and send you over a digital version, free of charge, for you to forward on to your guests.

Please, if you have any questions of concerns do not hesitate to get in touch.

PRINTING

At the moment it’s business as usual. But no one can foresee what is around the corner.

I am unsure how long my printers will remain running and how long delivery services will be available. I will keep you up to date as and when I know anything.

But don’t forget that any design can be emailed to clients or guests. So there are ways that we can get around things.

THANK YOU

And finally, a thank you. Thank you to everyone for your continued support. Times are changing and the way that we operate over the next few months is essential. Please take the time to support small businesses, we are ever so grateful.

See you on the other side x

Juggling Work and School

IMG_20180907_105513So, this happened this week. First week at school (wow!). And whilst I’m over the moon for my little one, and so proud to see her wandering in on her own all confident and excited, my goodness is it a shocker to the system!!

Suddenly my life has been shaken about and everything has changed. I now have to fit my working day into 5 hours, and it’s short, so short! I get back from the school run, kettle on and then sit at my desk. Before I know it, boom, it’s time to head back to school.

I have always been a fan of routine, and now, suddenly, I have it. But after over 4 years of chaos and a (slight) lack of organisation, it’s a real shock to the system. With a five hour work day, I actually have less time to fit everything in than I used to, but now I have 5 days a week. 5 days a week when I know I’ll get to work. No more having to postpone jobs for days (or more often than not working in the evenings to get them done in time).

It’s a lifestyle change, it’s a new chapter and fingers and toes crossed it will mean more stability and less panic (plus the added bonus of topping my 10,000 steps every day with the walk there and back – bonus!).

Change can be tiring, change can be hard work, but we must embrace it and enjoy it. Without change I suppose life would be pretty boring. I need to get ready now for the homework, the school meetings, the endless parties and everything else that comes with this fantastic new adventure. A huge well done to all those working parents out there!!
